With the new relationship of a Draftsman onboard, Pivotal Constructions can now offer a Design and Construct contract to its clients.
Working with the client from the start of the design stage, through to the build, and handover of the project, this service enables the client a service where they can be involved in the design process and enable them to create the exact look and feel they desire. It enables clients to utilise the new shift within councils from Development Applications to Complying Developments, and decreases the expense of architects.
“We were often helping clients with design decisions throughout their projects, and were being asked if we could offer this as part of our services. Without formal training in Draftsmanship, it was decided we could add value to Pivotal by incorporating a Draftsman as part of our team” said Adam Baddeley.
Pivotal Constructions currently has a design and construct project underway, which also falls under the new legislation of a Complying Development. It is a 4 bedroom home built around a concrete 9m x 4m pool, based in Collaroy, NSW. This home was designed by the owners who had lived in the area and knew exactly what they wanted to achieve in regard to sun, privacy, noise from traffic and the creation of a family retreat at the beach. The owner drew some sketches, discussed the types of materials he wanted incorporated and then the plans were drawn up by the draftsman. The plans were finalised with the client achieving close to exactly what he had envisaged; and within the building envelope that councils dictates. A Private Certifier was engaged and approval to commence demolition and construction was granted within 2 weeks of application. This project began at the end of June 2011, and is due to finish in February 2012.
